Conventional wisdom used to hold that if you wanted a reliable hosting experience for an e-commerce store and you never wanted to worry about band width issues, then you should use Yahoo! hosting services.

That conventional wisdom was thrown out on Monday as many of those sites from small electronics resellers to maternity clothes websites lost sales when errors and bandwidth issues prevented customers from making purchases on one of the busiest internet shopping days of the years.

E-commerce shop owners learned a lesson that Podcasters learned a few months back. Yahoo!’s services are not as reliable as a person might expect from such a large internet company that has been around for over a decade.
