The UC Radio Rig |

Hey everyone,
For some reason, this week I received quite a few emails about my setup, how I record, and what I’ve changed lately. Not sure why since it all kind of sounds the same to me, but here are some things for you to take in.
First, the UC Radio rig….
It has a Furman power conditioner, a DBX 266XL Stereo Compressor and an Aphex 230 Vocal Processor. That goes into my Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire, out to my Mac Pro tower. The mic of choice is a Shure SM7B. I record into Sound Studio, take it all in AIF format into Logic and mix the show together there. I use the compression in Logic as well, just adds a nice, tight tone to the entire thing. Then I listen to it all through a pair of Sony Pro headphones.
As for the difference in the sound of Sonic Wallpaper and UC Radio, to be honest, UC Radio is just me talking, Sonic Wallpaper I throw a little “FM DJ” into the mix to make a little more dramatic. Either way, it’s all me, no voice training, no DJ experience, just me.
So there you have it, pretty straight forward.
And to those of you that wrote in about Sonic Wallpaper being in the UC Radio feed, glad you liked it, and I hope most of you went to sonicewallpaper.mevio.com and subscribed to that show as well.
Thanks, and have a good one.
Mike
