Things To Do |

There must be loads of things I haven’t hought of yet, but there are definately two things on my to-do list that I have been putting off. They are both to do with the legal sides of things, and I suppose I’m putting them off because it is the final stage in a commitment to start up this business and sell my skills.
The first is to set up a limited company. I must admit I haven’t done any research into this since I was a contractor in another life, many years ago. And the second is to register for VAT. Before the orders come rolling in I have to do this.
I know this is just a phone call and relatively easy, so I will put this off until I have to. All the transactions that I have will go through the billing module I have built, so doing this will be a priority as soon as I start selling. The billing module will be the primary scource of accounting, so it has to be done correctly. I am using phpCoin to do this, and over the last few days have been testing this quite extensively. It used to be just for companies selling hosting, but now can be (relatively easily) be configured for any purpose. I’ll have a look at others before I commit myself, but this looks good at the moment, as it can be easily configured with templates.
Actually, if I was brave, this application does trouble tickets and web sites too. And has great support through the developers and forum. So I could combine all three aspects of the company into one application. Next, I’ll do some testing into the TT module, and if that works well, then I may well go completely over to phpCoin.
