Why I Love my Web Host
I run several websites and I’ll admit I like to do things as cheaply as possible and I like to do it all myself. It’s my own business so I have to keep costs down. Having said that, I’ve had really bad experiences in the past with web hosts, one in particular, I won’t bother mentioning it because I don’t think they’re even in business anymore, but it was a nightmare to say the least. At one point my sites were down for nearly a month and I ended up losing all of my data. After that learning experience I switched my web host over to . I’ve been with them for about 2 years now and I’ll say it’s been a very good experience. I’ve never had my sites down (not that it can’t happen) and when I’ve had a problem it’s always been minor and was resolved immediately. Usually the problem is my fault, i.e. can’t log in because I lost my password. What I like about Hostgator
is they have an online chat so you can connect with someone right away rather than wait for an email. What’s even better is I pay only $7.95 per month for unlimited domains, unlimited disk space, unlimited band width and if I want to pay just $5 more a month I could have a Dedicated IP and Private SSL. I shopped around and found Hostgator web hosting is really by far the best deal for the money, it’s no wonder it’s the leading web host on the internet.
They also have the popular c-panel and thousand of free website template which are really nice looking by the way. I haven’t had a chance to try them yet since I use Wordpress for most of my sites but that’s a great bonus all on its own.
Updated: Another bonus - Hostgator has gone green! Yes, they’re doing something to help protect the environment by switching all of their shared and reseller servers to 130% wind powered servers.
“Just how big a dent in climate change does that make?
It’s the equivalent of:
1. Removing 444 cars from the road for a year, or
2. Powering 321 homes with clean energy for a year, or
3. Saving 5,654 barrels of oil, or
4. Protecting 551 acres of forest for a year”
Wow! That’s pretty cool.
